Our City's Many Skylines
Nothing sparks the excitement of a city like a skyline. The enchanting mix of towering skyscrapers, twinkling lights and innovative architecture provides more than a magnificent view: It reflects a city’s unique flavor and hints at its future. And, whether it’s just three buildings or 300, a skyline inevitably evokes a sense of home for those who live within its scope.
On the following pages, KNOWAtlanta introduces you to the skylines of the city you’ll soon call your own. And whether you’ll make your home in a Midtown highrise, a Vinings townhouse or a community along GA-400, Atlanta’s diverse neighborhoods each identify with their own distinct stretch of skyline. Here, you’ll get the basics of the buildings themselves, which we think is a great way to start building your new life here.
Downtown/Midtown
Atlanta’s Downtown skyline is a spectacular reflection of the city’s heritage and its evolution into what many say is the capital of the new South. The area is home to the CNN Center, which is the world’s first 24-hour news network, the Georgia Aquarium, the world’s largest aquarium and Centennial Olympic Park, a daily reminder of the 1996 Olympic Games that were held in Atlanta. Not surprisingly, the nearby buildings are a tribute to the city’s vibrant pulse and economic vitality.
