Go Higher

Take your career to the next level with Atlanta’s higher education options.

By KNOWAtlanta Staff

Atlanta is the place where companies, businesses and educational institutions come to grow. In the next year, 2.5 million people will relocate to the metro Atlanta area. There are many reasons why so many people are drawn to this city, and one of the biggest reasons is Atlanta’s healthy job market. Atlanta’s pro-business attitude has attracted more than 2,000 companies and 17 Fortune 500 companies. This business community demands a highly educated workforce, and the educational community has responded by offering expanded degree programs and flexible schedules, and adding satellite campuses and distance learning options.

Your Options

Two of Georgia’s four public research universities are located in Downtown and Midtown Atlanta–Georgia Institute of Technology and Georgia State University. The University of Georgia is in nearby Athens, but the school has satellite campuses in Lawrenceville and Downtown Atlanta. Each of these schools offers a myriad of undergraduate, graduate and doctorate degrees.

Sprinkled throughout the Atlanta area are the three public state universities of Clayton College State and University, Kennesaw State University and Southern Polytechnic State and University.
