of Atlanta, Northside Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital, United Postal Service,
Newell Rubbermaid and Verizon Wireless. Northside Hospital, one of the largest
companies, employs 6,000 people in the metro area.
Most of the northside’s recreational opportunities lie along the Chattahoochee
River. The Chattahoochee Recreational Area is a network of unpaved trails and
park facilities in the river valley. You’ll find many residents hiking
along the “Hooch,” canoeing and tubing down the river and a few
brave souls wading in to enjoy the fly fishing opportunities.
If you love to shop, this is the place for you—Perimeter Mall, North Point
Mall and the North Georgia Premium Outlets are located within the northern suburbs.
Steeped in history and Southern charm, historic downtown Roswell offers an enjoyable
mix of antique shops, sidewalk cafes and restaurants, as well as art galleries
and boutiques situated within refurbished buildings.
The northern suburbs also host a full calendar of family festivals and seasonal
