Georgia is the 10th Best State for Business 2014

Based on a recent CEO Survey by Chief Executive, Georgia is ranked as the 10th best state for business in 2014.

Coca-Cola Company, United Parcel Service Inc., Home Depot Inc., AFLAC Incorporated and Delta Airlines are listed as the major companies in Georgia, with over three stars for Taxation and Regulations, Workforce Quality and Living Environment.

Georgia’s GDP grew 2.1 percent from 2011-2012, which is .4 percentage points less than the national average (2.5 percent).

The unemployment rate as of December 2013 is 7.4 percent, .7 percentage points higher than the national average of 6.7 percent.

Georgia is ranked 36 in Domestic Migration, with -6,347 as the Domestic Net Migration in 2013.

The state debt per capita FY13 is $1301, with 545.7 state and local employees per 10,000 residents.

The state local tax burden at 9 percent is .9 points less than the national average.
