(Wednesday, June 29 2016) - Construction of the new East Cobb Medical Center reached a new milestone on June 23 as Northside Hospital marked the occasion with a topping out ceremony.
The four-story, 100,000 square-foot center is on target for a December completion date after the first breaking ground ceremony took place in February. The facility is being built on a 14-acre site on Olde Towne Parkway.
The topping out event (when the last beam, or its equivalent, is put in place on a structure) featured remarks from project partners, such as Northside Hospital, MedCraft Healthcare Real Estate, Welltower Inc. and Brasfield & Gorrie.
Northside Hospital hopes the new center will further extend clinical services to the residents of East Cobb and the surrounding communities. According to a press release for the event, the fast-growing east Cobb area is home to over 200,000 people. Patients of the new center will have access to imaging, primary care, urgent care and a variety of specialists.
