Fayette County   Minimize

Fayette County, a close-knit community in the northwestern part of Georgia, is just 15 miles south of Atlanta. One of the smallest counties in the state, Fayette is home to more than 107,000 residents, who can enjoy a wide range of transportation options. Interstates 75, 285, 85 and state highways 54, 74, 85, 92, 279 and 314 all pass through the county for practical access to and from outlying cities. Fayetteville, the county seat, is a key feature of the area with a shining assortment of independent shops, businesses, restaurants and the Old Fayette County Courthouse, which is included on the National Register of Historic Places. Peachtree City, the most successful pre-planned city in the Southeast, adds to the local appeal. Educational opportunities abound with nearly 30 schools in the communities of Brooks, Fayetteville, Peachtree City, Tyrone and Woolsey. Entertainment in the county includes a wealth of recreational activities and events, including golf among Fayette’s six golf courses and a lively St. Patty’s festival in the city of Tyrone.
