Since 1958, Columbus State University has educated students who have gone on
to become leaders at the local, state and national level. Currently, the university
offers 46 undergraduate and 42 graduate degrees. Our graduates played a major
role in the success of a $100 million capital campaign that concluded in 2005,
paying tribute to the value of their Columbus State education and what they
want it to mean to future generations.
Columbus State has also cultivated a reputation for extending its commitment
to learning into the community, especially with the development of its RiverPark
campus in downtown Columbus. The world-class performing arts campus includes:
- Theatre on the Park,
a new stage for students in Columbus State’s nationally recognized Department
of Theatre.
- Corn Center for the Visual
Arts, the home of galleries that feature the work of visiting artists and
students in Columbus State’s Department of Art.
- The Schwob School of
Music.
- Two new apartment buildings
for students and a parking garage to serve the RiverPark campus community
and the public.
At least three other outreach
centers nearby—the Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center, the Coca-Cola
Space Science Center and the Carson McCullers Center for Writers and Musicians—extend
Columbus State’s reputation as a teaching university, offering learning
opportunities for students as well as the public.
The Columbus State University College of Education and Health Professions offers
master’s, specialist, and doctorate degrees in 33 areas through classes
on its main, RiverPark, and West Point campuses, including four online degrees.
Many graduate classes in our nationally accredited programs meet in the evenings
and some on the weekends on our main campus and at our new location in West
Point. The College of Education and Health Professions (COEHP) at Columbus State
University continues to plan and implement a comprehensive array of graduate
student services to assure excellence in educator and counselor preparation.
The COEHP Office of Graduate Studies serves as the focal point for all graduate
services in collaboration with program coordinators, department chairs, the
COEHP Office of Services and Field Experiences (SAFE Office).
