Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, one of the nation’s largest pediatric health care systems, is committed to being a model for pediatric care. With more than 30 pediatric specialties, Children’s provides care at three hospitals -- Children’s at Egleston, Children’s at Hughes Spalding and Children’s at Scottish Rite—and sixteen neighborhood locations throughout metro Atlanta. Children’s manages more than a half million patient visits annually and strives to enhance the lives of children through excellence in patient care, research and education.

Children’s was formed in 1998 when Egleston Children’s Health Care System and Scottish Rite Children’s Medical Center joined to form a unified healthcare system. In February 2006, HSOC Inc., an affiliate of Children’s, began providing services at Children’s at Hughes Spalding. Today, Children’s is one of the country’s leading pediatric hospitals.

Children’s exists to improve the health and well-being of children. Children are not small adults; their anatomy and physiology, the kinds of illnesses they suffer from and the treatments they need are different. Children’s pediatric focused facilities house an environment where patients can receive high quality clinical care in a child-friendly environment. In addition, children require specialized care from health care providers who understand and are trained in those differences. At Children’s, patients receive model care from medical staff, nurses, physician assistants, technicians and other medical professionals who care for children every day, using specialized pediatric medical procedures, supplies and equipment.

Children’s is dedicated to the overall wellness of children. Children’s is one of three lead agencies—along with Prevent Child Abuse Georgia and March of Dimes Georgia Chapter—in the Georgia Children’s Health Alliance (GCHA), a statewide collaboration uniting public, private, not-for-profit, business and community sectors, and pediatric health experts to create healthier futures for our children.
