A Town Rises From Farmland with an Informal European Vibe and Southern Design
With access to diverse locations from bustling city streets to rural farmland towns, Georgia has quickly developed into the number one filming location in the world. Set on more than 700 acres and home to 18 sound stages, Pinewood Studios is the new, go-to choice in the United States for filmmakers, and it’s the heart of the film industry in our state. Myriad blockbusters, including many within the Marvel Universe, have been produced on the Fayetteville property, which has actually sparked the creation of an entire town.
Designed to present residents with a genuinely unique live-work-play environment, Pinewood Forest sits on 235 rolling acres of idyllic farmland. A blend of rural settings with an urban feel creates the perfect setting for storytellers, artists and their patrons to gather and enjoy a different kind of life. And the town’s design boasts an array of new urbanism features, such as walkable neighborhoods that bring people together.
Located in the heart of the town is a 25-acre district that will include 12 chef-driven restaurants, a performing arts center, a boutique hotel and a select service/extended stay hotel, more than 70,000 square feet of retail and commercial space, a 60,000-square-foot Piedmont Wellness Center, galleries and collaborative working space, as well as traditional amenities like pools, sports courts and more. There is even a micro-school, the Forest School, which uses Socratic discussions, e-learning, hands-on projects, apprenticeships and more to provide students with a self-paced, purposeful education.
Pinewood Forest is currently in phase one of its residential development, with 60 homes built and more in various stages of construction. Once complete, the community will feature 600 single-family homes, 100 townhomes, 600 multifamily apartment units and even micro-cottages and tree homes! Each home will have its own set of unique features, including gourmet kitchens, 10-foot ceilings, private courtyards and professional landscaping.
In addition to the rural setting, 50 percent of the community is dedicated for green space, a wetland preserve and 15 miles of trails and walkways. The developer states that every home is either located on a park or within a block of a park. Another aspect that will make these homes truly different is the 100 percent geothermal feature that uses Earth’s temperature to heat or cool the home, saving homeowners between 40 and 70 percent on their energy bills.
As glamorous as this town sounds, it is also completely affordable and meant to attract all types of homebuyers. From millennials to empty nesters, the prices will range from $200,000 to more than $1 million in various themed neighborhoods within the larger community. What’s more, the world is still within reach, as downtown Atlanta is just 25 minutes away and Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport only 20.
